Neighbors International Foundation provides care packages to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Because of the generous donations by our members, we have been able to send over 1,600 package to 40 servicemen and women serving our country.
The packages are made up of things that the soldiers have requested as essentials and include many items that we hope help them feel a little closer to home. Some of the things we've sent:
• Snack and food items that hold up well in a combat environment.
• Entertainment items like DVD's and CD's.
• Over 75 current magazines regularly donated by Time Warner.
• Holiday items to bring some seasonal cheer.
Beanie Babies
NIF collected and delivered Beanie Babies to units in Iraq and Afghanistan for distribution to local children. The reports back from our troops tell us all we need to know: Kids are the same everywhere! A soft stuffed animal always brought a smile to a child whose world has very few happy moments.
